Riboku and Kaine travel to Gian in the north, where they see the new year celebrations in full swing on the frontlines of Zhao.
Qian armies finally arrive at both the Heiyou and Bujou castle. Thus, the battle between these two great armies begins. Kanki’s army brings up the siege tower called “Koshun.”While the battle continues unabated, a small fleet of horse riders led by General Ousen breaks away between the two castles and heads north to inspect the territory around Bujou and Heiyou.
The chapter ends with General Ousen astonished and surprised looking at the Great Wall built by Li Mu while reading the map of the entirety of Zhao, realizing that they are in Gian.

5. Chapter 701 Recap
Notices of fallen Zhao soldiers have been put in the streets of Kantan. People are furious that the Qin wouldn’t let even prisoners survive. Some are looking to enlist in the army right away.
The noblemen of Kantan are similarly alarmed and are discussing the security of Bujou and Heiyou. Kansou advises Prime Minister Kakukai not to fret since they have enough soldiers posted at these places. The real problem is the merchants fleeing, taking all capital with them.
Kansou then, in an elaborate manner, tells everyone if things get really bad, they run for the hills. Kakukai dislikes the idea of running away, so he sends a messenger to the exiled General Renpa.
The messenger, Ensei, convinces a healthy Renpa to come to Kantan and help. The nobles ask Kansou if it’s okay for Renpa to come back because even a tiny mistake on their part would get them killed by him.
Kakukai tells Ensei that the king has forbidden Renpa’s return. He is reasonably upset and asks for a chance to talk to the king.
Seeing his refusal to let it go, Kakukai relents at first but in secret orders Ensei to be killed. Kakukai can think of no other way than to ask help from “that” man.
A messenger is dispatched from Kantan to Seika. A year later, Li Mu arrives with his soldiers to battle Kanki in a war.
