5. Chapter 674 Recap
Waking up to a bad dream, Rei springs out of the futon and finds Kyou Kai lying already awake beside her. However, Kai was still half asleep, drunk on the confession of feelings she and Shin had.
Rei tries to share her bad dream, which involved Shiki, but Kai was daydreaming about Shin. Rei gives up on telling her nightmare and gets up to bring some breakfast and Kai insists on coming along.
As both sisters leave their tent in the chilly morning, a cold breeze swept away Kai’s hair, blessing anyone’s soul who saw it. But Kyou Kai, being irritated by the hair getting into her eyes, cuts it down, which comes like a bolt from the blue for everyone else.
Meanwhile, a messenger from the Ousen and Kanki armies delivers the message to Hi Shin Unit to head up to the frontlines. Shin summons all the top brass of the unit to HQ to break the news to everyone and departs immediately.
But watching the new hairstyle of Kai, the topic of the meeting goes off tangent, and even Shin’s face gets all red.
But soon, the Hi Shin Unit marches towards the frontline, awaiting further instructions as the battle unfolds. They were to back up either Ousen or Kanki, depending on the situation on the frontline.
On their way to the battlefield, HSU comes across the Gakuka.
Shin learns that even Mouten does not have clear instructions on which army to join yet. Asthey discuss the strategy behind such uncertain command, Shin is surprised to learn that Gyoku Hou is also there and has already joined the army on the frontlines.
But Shin gets thrown off the hook, when he discovers that Ouhon is married, and his kid was born just the other day. Meanwhile, on the frontline, Kanki began a fierce attack unlike any he’d ordered before and buried many enemies.
But many Qin lives were violently squandered too. As the main army and right wing pressed on with the attack, the left wing got locked in a brutal fight on Eikyuu’s unfavorable terrain.
The left wing gets intercepted on its way to Eikyuu and gets nearly annihilated. As Hi Shin Unit reaches Gyoku Hou encampment, Shin learns yet another staggering news.
