Nakami and Isaki keep their new friendship a secret from the class. The two decide to renovate the observatory, bringing new furniture and decorations in. A cat, who Isaki names Two-Chan, joins their club. While Ganta chooses to fix the door-knob, Isagi gets some ice cream.
The school nurse, Kurashiki sensei, catches Nakami trying to fix the door knob of the observatory. Nakami tries to take the blame himself, but Isaki does not let him. Although Sensei understands their need for a resting place, she admits she has no choice but to report them for using and wasting school property.
Nanami and Isaki counter this rule by officially signing up as Astronomy Club members, which the school faculty agrees to. Kurashiki sensei happily agrees to monitor them, making the two happy since they can use the observatory freely. Later that night, at school, Isaki and Nakami use a telescope to watch the moon together.

Insomniacs After School (Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia) is a manga series by Makoto Ojiro. It started serialization in the Big Comic Spirits magazine in May 2019 and has been collected into 11 volumes as of January 2023.
The manga focuses on two school students, Ganta and Isaki. Both of them have insomnia, and Ganta walks in on Isaki’s secret spot in school, an abandoned observatory.
The two become quick friends and start being with each other often as they find solace in the other person.
