Since they don’t even have a penny left to travel, the teenager and her servant resort to robbing corpses that died due to the famine. The pair then somehow collect enough to travel overseas and pursue their goals.

Although the manga has been on a break with its latest volume 5 released on March 18, 2021, it still hasn’t lost its fanbase. We bring good news for everyone who’s been waiting for it to come back.

The manga Katabami to Ougan announced begin serialization under Kodansha’s Comic Days and resume from October 19, 2021.

The story is set in the 1800s and often draws actual incidents and famous personalities from that period. For instance, when Amelia and Connor met the famous John Mung, one of the first Japanese to travel to the USA, and much more.

The latest happening in the story showed us the pair reaching the slave state Kentucky and staying at the millionaire Morales House. 

Connor has been sick and taken care of, while Amelia has been kidnapped by one of the slaves.

Will Amelia be saved? Will Connor get better? Will they be able to reach California in time?

The best part about this story is how even during difficult times like the 1800s, Amelia managed to make friends and get some allies.

Katabami to Ougan is a manga by Eiichi Kitano that began serialization on March 19, 2019 in Shueisha’s Ultra Jump but transferred to Kodansha’s Comic Days. It set in 1849 when the Great Famine struck Ireland.

The story features a 14-year-old girl Amelia who has lost everyone in her family to the crisis except her family servant Connor. She is informed of California’s Gold Rush and is on a journey with Connor to become rich by acquiring the gold.
