Kaguya-sama: Love is War Chapter 241: Release Date, Delay, Discussion

Kaguya-sama: Love is War chapter 240, titled “Unyo Shinomiya can’t talk,” was the latest episode to release.

The story so far continues after the day of the French exchange and Kaguya’s disappearance. We saw how all the student council members were worried about Kaguya, especially Shirogane.

Kaguya was absent for the entirety of the chapter, and we met her older brother, Unyo, instead.

Unyo takes Shirogane to meet their father after briefly asking him about Kaguya at school. When he sees Kaguya having fun through the pictures on Shirogane’s phone, he says something about Kaguya not being useful anymore.

Why did Unyo take Shirogane to his father? What are his true intentions? We’ll find out in the next chapter.

1. Chapter 242 Discussions and Predictions 

Chapter 242 will resume with Shirogane and Unyo facing the elderly head of the family. Ganan Shinomiya, Kaguya’s father, is a bedridden and frail older man likely taking his last breaths.

We will find out about Unyo’s true intentions and will witness the last moments of Ganan.

Also, after his death, there could be a fight between Kaguya and her brothers about who will take over the business empire. The family politics of the Shinomiyas will become a central part of the story.

5. Chapter 241 Recap

Chapter 241 begins with the TV flashing breaking news that twenty-one members of the Shinomiya group are arrested. With Kaguya’s disappearance, a concerned Shirogane asks his fellow council members whether Kaguya’s parents had been arrested too.

Iino tells him that none of the Shinomiyas were arrested, and only the CEOs and other executives were on the list. 

The student council discusses the messy and complicated world Kaguya lives in, which is entirely different from their world. Shirogane tells the group that he had exchanged texts with Kaguya, where she told him not to worry.

They also discuss how intimidating men in black stood outside the school and took Kaguya away right after the French exchange.

After school, Shirogane meets Unyo Shinomiya, Kaguya’s older brother. He asks him whether he knows where Ai Hayasaka is. Shirogane tells him that he doesn’t know, and even if he did, he would never tell him.

Unyo then asks Shirogane to go with him if he wants to know what’s going on, and Shirogane reluctantly agrees. After getting something to eat, the two sit down, and Unyo asks Shirogane about Kaguya’s school life.

He is surprised to see the jovial side of Kaguya and comments how she was always manipulative and calculative at home.

As the chapter ends, Unyo takes Shirogane to a hospital, where the head of the family, Ganan Shinomiya, lies, possibly on the verge of death.

Kaguya-sama: Love Is War is a Japanese seinen manga series written and illustrated by Aka Akasaka. It began serialization in Shueisha’s Miracle Jump in May 2015 and was transferred to Weekly Young Jump in March 2016.

Student council president Miyuki Shirogane and vice-president Kaguya Shinomiya appear to be the perfect couple. Still, both are too proud to confess their love and scheme to make the other confess their love first.
