With the New Year approaching, every streaming site is taking a look back at some of the fan-favorite anime from 2020. MyAnimeList has also dived into the action by showcasing the popular anime according to its users.
MyAnimeList has revealed its most-watched anime rankings and Jujutsu Kaisen has secured its place as the most-watched anime for the year 2020 with over 279,277 votes. Re: ZERO Season 2 is just behind at #2 with 222,366 votes.
The God of High School and Kaguya Sama Season 2 took the #3 and #4 spots with 210,988 and 206,880 votes respectively. Whereas, Haikyuu!! To the Top Season 2, the best sport anime of 2020 according to fans took the #6 spot.
The rankings are based on accumulated watch lists of users for the anime that have crossed the 10 episodes mark.
Although, Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen serves the whole weak protagonist turns hero story cliché, it way more than that. It builds on curses and their mysterious powers and shows the fans that sometimes the villains can also overpower the heroes and heroes might just have to turn to the dark side to defeat them.
MyAnimeList also revealed the Score vs. Popularity ranking on this year’s anime.
