We see a gravely injured Nanami alone. He looks like a walking corpse. His body is half burnt after Jogo’s attack. We might see what Nanami has in store for him. He might run into more cursed spirits as he is on one of the station levels.

We might also see what happened to Maki as she was attacked alongside Nanami. We don’t know whether she survived or not.

After Itadori’s declaration, we will probably see him fighting again. Itadori does not look like he is ever going to smile again. He does not know the extent of Sukuna’s damage yet, either.

Toge, who was also in the area, might have gotten caught up in Sukuna’s domain. We might find out what happened to him as well.

3. Recap of episode 17

The episode starts with Itadori’s grandfather telling him to help others because he is strong. We cut to Sukuna standing amidst burning ruins as a bitter reminder that Itadori currently has no control over his actions.

After Toji’s death, Fushiguro is attacked by Haruta. Fushiguro explains his ‘Ten Shadows Technique’ and reveals that the users have to subjugate the shikigami before they can command them. Even though users cannot control the shikigami before subjugating it, they can still summon it for subjugation multiple times.

Gojo once told Fushiguro that in the past, the heads of Gojo and the Zenin clan fought to the death. They possessed ‘Limitless’ and ‘Six Eyes’ like Gojo and ‘Ten Shadows Technique’ like Fushiguro. Gojo implies that Fushiguro can get strong enough to beat him. Fushiguro refuses to accept that. He figures that the head of the Zenin Clan used the same trump card he plans on using now.

After Uraume’s arrival, Sukuna asks them to prepare for his revival. He sensed Fushiguro’s grand attack. Fushiguro performs a ritual to summon the Divine General shikigami, Makora. Since Makora is not subjugated, it immediately attacks Fushiguro and moves to attack Haruta. However, Haruta is saved by Sukuna at the last moment.

Sukuna quickly analyzes the situation. Since Fushiguro made Haruta participate in the ritual, if Haruta dies, the ritual will be complete. If that happens, Fushiguro’s death will be established. To prevent Fushiguro from dying, Sukuna must defeat Makora before it kills Haruta.

Sukuna and Makora start fighting. Sukuna’s attacks don’t affect Makora much. They engage in an intense battle all over Shibuya, with Sukuna studying Makora’s moves as they fight. Sukuna’s slices are ineffective, and he realizes it has to do with Makora’s technique and the wheel on its head.

The fight has moved to places where humans are hiding. Sukuna realizes that Makora’s technique lets him adapt to anything and everything. He also realizes that Fushiguro could have defeated him the last time they fought. This increases Sukuna’s interest in Fushiguro further.

Sukuna performs his Domain Expansion. His domain, Malevolent Kitchen, does not form a barrier but affects everything within a 200-meter radius. In order to not affect Fushiguro, he reduces it to 140 meters. Sukuna has two prominent attacks. Fillet affects things with cursed energies, and Dissect affects the rest.

To defeat Makora before it adapts, he uses both. Everything else within the domain’s range is collateral damage. Shibuya is in complete shambles. Sukuna uses Fuga, the fire arrow, and ends Makora once and for all. As Shibuya burns down, the ritual comes to an end.

Haruta dies because he exhausted his cursed technique. Fushiguro will still survive. Sukuna realizes his time is nearly up, as Itadori might awaken any moment. He drops Fushiguro off to Shoko and Yaga. Yaga saw a glimpse of Itadori but suspected it was Sukuna.

Sukuna stands in front of a destroyed Shibuya purposely, as a taunt to Itadori. When Itadori awakens, he is standing in front of an apocalyptic Shibuya. He immediately breaks down as his head fills up with everything Sukuna did after waking up. He wills himself to die as we are shown the aftereffects of Sukuna’s awakening.

Itadori decides to leave and fight, or he will be reduced to a mere murderer.
