The Jump Festa’23 event that took place on December 17 released a character introduction video and July 2023 premiere date for the second season of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime. The anime will air on MBS, TBS, and 28 other affiliated channels.
This season will air for two quarters of the year, for a continuous half-year run. This season of the anime will adapt the “Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu” arc and the “Shibuya Incident” arc of the manga.
The first season of the Jujutsu Kaisen television anime premiered in October 2020, and consisted of 24 episodes. The anime was streamed outside of Asia by Crunchyroll.
The plot of the series as described by Crunchyroll is as follows:
Yuji Itadori is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life. One day, to save a classmate who has been attacked by curses, he eats the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, taking the curse into his own soul.
From then on, he shares one body with Ryomen Sukuna. Guided by the most powerful of sorcerers, Satoru Gojo, Itadori is admitted to Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the curses… and thus begins the heroic tale of a boy who became a curse to exorcise a curse, a life from which he could never turn back.

Gege Akutami’s manga was first launched in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in March 2018. The manga is being published digitally by Viz Media and Shueisha’s MANGA Plus app.
