As one of the most popular franchises of all time, Jujutsu Kaisen has captured the hearts of fans worldwide. The manga written by Gege Akutami and the subsequent anime adaptation by MAPPA has been quite successful both critically and commercially. Now the franchise is looking to expand in a different territory altogether!
The action-adventure series follows the life of Yuji Itadori, who is possessed by a powerful curse but manages to control it. This is the perfect setting for a video game. And that is exactly what we are getting this time!
The Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine has revealed that the video game “Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade” is under development.
While the game’s release date has not yet been confirmed, fans expect that it will probably be out pretty soon! Phantom Parade will be a Role-Playing Game (RPG) and will include a gacha system.
This means that the game will be free to play but will contain in-app purchases for players to buy additional items.
Sumzap, the company behind the popular KonoSuba mobile game, will oversee the development of the RPG. The game will be available on both Android and iOS platforms. Initially, players from only Japan will be able to access the game.
The first season of the “Jujutsu Kaisen” anime concluded back in March. The audience loved it for its storyline, action sequences, and supernatural elements. With the upcoming RPG, fans will get a chance to find themselves in the shoes of their favorite characters!
Considering the other works of Sumzap, we can expect the upcoming game to have a neat, user-friendly interface and controls. It will be interesting to see if the developers incorporate some of the elements from the original story or introduce an entirely new plot.
Nevertheless, it will be a fantastic experience for the fans. We hope that the game is released soon so that the fans can enjoy the magic of Jujutsu Kaisen on their smartphones!
