Before the fight, Choso promises Yuki and Tengen that he will take on Kenjaku alone. Choso was warned by the former Vessel that fighting Kenjaku alone would endanger his life, but he claimed it did not matter. In the present, Kenjaku is attacked by Choso using Blood Manipulation.
At the last second, Kenjaku avoided the blow and released a cursed spirit at Choso. Kenjaku used the chance to throw a sizable piece of concrete at Choso after he dodged it.
Multiple cursed ghosts were approaching him from behind the concrete slab. While Choso stopped them, Kenjaku had the chance to fight using Death Painting Womb hand-to-hand.
Choso realized he was in trouble and attempted to buy some time by inquiring how Kenjaku intended to employ Yuji, given that he was distinct from the Death Painting Wombs he had ignored for 150 years.
