Basking in the glory of the hit anime series Jujutsu Kaisen, Studio MAPPA has released the full trailer for the upcoming anime film Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie on Friday (29th July). The sizzling trailer features the central protagonist of the film, Yuta Okkotsu voiced by Megumi Ogata. She is known for iconic roles such as Shinji from Neon Genesis Evangelion and Sailor Uranus in Sailor Moon.
In a similar vein to the Chainsaw Man trailer we were blessed with, MAPPA’s teaser for Jujutsu Kaisen 0 packs quite a punch. The trailer showcases the emotional connection between the duo of Yuta and Rika through a wedding ring. Nevertheless, a dark fog surrounds the duo through which the harsh reality of the Jujutsu world is brought to light.
The film is set to premiere in Japan on Christmas Eve, i.e., 24th December 2021.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will be a prequel to the mainline series and will follow the antics of the second-year students of Jujutsu High. But in the prequel film, our favorite senpai Panda, Maki, and Toge will be in their first year.
The film will borrow a significant chunk of the cast from the 2020 anime series, but just to let you know, the cast of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will include:

The film’s staff has also shared character designs of the first-year students Panda, Maki Zenin, and Toge Inumaki of Jujutsu High, keeping in line with the wishes of the mangaka, Gege Akutami. In the anime series, these three have appeared as reliable mentors to their juniors.
The following has been shared about the characters:
- Maki Zenin: She was born into a family of elite sorcerers, but instead of possessing spells and unable to see curses, she mastered her martial arts and physical prowess. In addition, her hairstyle, uniform, and glasses have been changed from the TV anime version.
- Toge Inumaki: He is the user of the cursed speech technique because of which to prevent unintentionally cursing others, he uses the recipe of rice balls to communicate. His hairstyle sees a significant change from the TV series.
- Panda: He is a panda but speaks the human language and takes care of others. But, do not let his appearance fool you, created by Michi Yagamasa, the president of Jujutsu High. He has impressive fighting skills and makes a huge impact.
With a few more months until the film’s release, there will be more teasers and visuals that will be coming our way, so keep your eyes wide open! Will this film be yet another blockbuster following Demon Slayer: Mugen Train? Or something that might even surprise us all?

Jujutsu Kaisen, also known as Sorcery Fight, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since March 2018.
An anime television series adaptation produced by MAPPA premiered in October 2020.
The story revolves around Yuuji Itadori, a high-school student who, despite hating athletics, is insanely fit. Yuuji gets involved in the world of sorcery when he swallows a powerful talisman to protect his friends from its curse.
On observing that Yuuji wasn’t affected much even when inflicted with this curse, Satoru decides to send Yuuji on a quest to save the world.
