The film can hold its own against global romance and drama hits like Your Name and A Silent Voice. It is a beautiful yet simple story about Josee, a girl who can’t walk, and a university student named Tsuneo.

The wait for the movie is finally over for the North American audience!

The anime film, Josee, The Tiger, and The Fish will make its premiere in the US and Canada on July 12.

Funimation released a subbed trailer of the film along with the announcement. The film will be available in English subbed and dubbed versions in North America.

Even though Josee initially gave Tsuneo a hard time, the pair start to understand each other, forming a close bond eventually. The story is fascinating and has a charm of its own with the art style and aesthetics.

It received a lot of praise and positive response, going as far as getting into the feature film category at the Annecy Film Festival! It is the kind of movie you DON’T wanna miss out on.

It is tragic in a way that I Want To Eat Your Pancreas or Ocean Waves are. Okay, maybe not as tragic as I Want To Eat Your Pancreas, but the feeling is similar.

Simple, heartfelt, and wholesome is how I would describe the film in a few words.

Despite the ending, the movie is surprisingly not a letdown, and instead, it gives you more closure. I won’t reveal it so you will have to watch the movie to know!

Trust me, it will be one of the best and most emotional 98 minutes of your life. And do keep your tissues ready before watching!
