HBO Max has ordered a rock climbing reality show titled ‘The Climb,’ straight from the creative devices of Jason Momoa and legendary climber Chris Sharma. The first season will have eight episodes.
Momoa announced the same on his Instagram, expressing his gratitude (“mahalo”) to everyone involved who has made this possible.
The show will be developed by Momoa’s On the Roam enterprise, Sharma alongside The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC) which is an Industrial Media company.
Momoa is beyond excited to be teaming up with Sharma, whom he calls his friend and idol. Of course, he is also gearing up to introduce his favorite sport, rock climbing, in a way that it has never been seen before on TV.
The Climb’s press release reads as following:
TheClimb is a visually arresting and life-changing adventure that represents the foundations of rock climbing and the exploration of the human spirit. In this all-encompassing competition, amateur climbers are put through a rigorous series of mental and physical challenges, utilizing the most intimidating ascents in the world to crown the world’s best amateur climber.
The Climb’s Press Release Reads
Many know Momoa from Games of Thrones, Aquaman and recently from Dune and See. But Momoa’s love for the outdoors may still come as a pleasant surprise for those who don’t follow him closely.
Besides The Climb, Momoa is prepping for another adventure documentary series — his production company, On the Roam, has its show ordered for discovery+. In the show, Momoa will travel far and wide discovering artists, geniuses and masters in their respective crafts.
As of now, The Climb has no official release date.
About The Climb
The Climb is an upcoming American reality TV competition focused on mountain climbing. An order of eight episodes was sent by HBO Max, to be developed by Jason Momoa’s production company On the Roam, legendary rock climber Chris Sharma and The Intellectual Property Corporation.
In the series, amateur rock climbers will be put through various trials, physical and mental in nature, summiting different mountains, to determine the best of them all.
