After 2020’s surprise hit The Invisible Man, Blumhouse had made no confirmation for the following sequel. But after almost three years since the original’s release, we have a promising update for The Invisible Man 2 from Jason Blum.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Blum spoke about the delay in confirming the sequel. The producer added he’s responsible for the “injustice,” but he’d be open to bringing it up once Atomic Monster and Blumhouse joined hands, and James Wan was on board with the idea too.
Well, it’s a great question. I think we mostly hold me accountable, but hopefully, if our dreams come true and our two companies get to work together, maybe James will help me solve that problem.

Since the 2020 film, the crew and cast have been busy with other projects but have shown interest in returning for a challenging script and far more exciting plot. But now, with Blum’s green signal and Wan showing interest in it, the talk for the sequel will be fast-tracked, and we might get an official confirmation soon.
The Invisible Man’s ending has left a great plotline open for the sequel to explore when Cecilia goes on the run with the invisible suit after killing her ex. Blumhouse’s reputation as a horror-making machine and Atomic Monster’s genius will surely be a force to reckon with if The Invisible Man 2 ever takes off.
The possibility for The Invisible Woman, a title coined for Moss’ Cecilia once she takes the invisible mantle, is even higher.
The film’s original director Leigh Whannell and James Wan are close friends and have previously worked on horror franchises such as Insidious and Saw, so we can trust them to build an Invisible Man franchise.
