James Gunn Responds to the ‘Sell Snyder Verse to Netflix’ Campaign

James Gunn shares his thoughts about the ongoing demand by DC fans to sell Justice League by Zack Snyder, or the Snyderverse, to Netflix.

The DC Universe is going through a major revamp following the creation of DC Studios, which will be a new start for the franchise. James Gunn and Peter Safran are captaining this new ship of the DCU as co-CEOs, while the DCEU is slowly heading toward its end. However, fans have been hoping that the Snyderverse can be sneaked into the DCU in some way.

#SellTheSnyderVerseToNetflix, has been going on for a while now. The main aim of this campaign is to bring the Snyderverse outside the DCU and onto another big platform, so that Zack Snyder’s unfinished ideas get a platform to develop.

While the passion of DCU fans is commendable, James Gunn recently responded to the campaign on his official Twitter account. Check out Gunn’s response here –

Gunn has made it clear that he finds little sense in the movement, because as per him neither Netflix nor Snyder himself has shown any interest in the matter. While Snyder has not officially commented on part 1 of Gunn’s DCU plan titled “Gods and Monsters” which was unveiled recently, the CEO shared that he is supportive of it.

Though there is no news of Snyder being involved in any DCU projects as of now, we never know what can happen in the future. As of now, Snyder is preoccupied with Rebel Moon for Netflix and a few other projects. So, even if Snyderverse was sold to Netflix, he would not be able to work on any future projects unless he is done with the work on his hands.

Moreover, it would not be profitable for Warner Bros. Discovery to give up an entire DC franchise to another platform at such a crucial time when they’re preparing to launch the DCU. It would also not be feasible to let go of their control over DC characters in this stage of planning.

The SnyderVerse is dead as of now and will remain so for a while now. Even if Gunn plans to revive it, he can’t do so as the DCU itself will not relaunch before 2025.
