While Tensei Shitara Slime Datta ken’s light novel, manga, and anime have been sourced from its web novel, they vary greatly when it comes to the characterization of its main villain – Yuuki. From a happy go lucky guy that just wants to read some comics to a psychopathic villain, he is interesting, to say the least.
While the web novel has concluded, in the light novel and manga, even his powers and backstory haven’t been completely developed yet. With little information to go on, it is difficult to predict how the story will go on and how strong he’ll become.
However, no matter what Yuuki’s character is like in either format, he is most probably still going to be an antagonist that Rimuru will have to fight one day.
With that in mind, let’s compare their strength and see who comes out on top. Place your bets, a slime Vs. a bored emo guy.
1. Is Yuuki Stronger Than Rimuru?
Yuuki Kagurazaka is not stronger than Rimuru Tempest, who has already reached godhood by the end of TenSura. After learning time travel, Rimuru comes back to the present and digests Yuuki, who then dies as a result.
In the light novel, Yuuki is portrayed as a guy who wants a just world, where everyone is free to do what they want, while in the web novel, Yuuki embodies a maniacal emo man who wants the world to burn down for the injustices he suffered. In both cases, he wants to be the ruler and believes that the end justifies the means.
With such lofty goals that are bound to cause tumultuous changes in the world of TenSura, Yuuki needs to be strong enough to implement them.
I. How Strong Is Yuuki? – Skills & Abilities
Yuuki Kagurazaka transmigrated into this world, like Rimuru; however, unlike the latter, he had far more ambitious goals.
When Yuuki came into the world of TenSura, he did not seem to have any unique skills, other than his abnormal physical abilities. However, this was just a falsehood maintained by him in order to hide his ultimate skill – Greedy King Mammon.
This skill of his specialized in depriving not only someone’s life but their ability and even their conscious minds. Using this, Kagurazaka could re-write the information in one’s soul and ingrain loyalty towards himself in them.
Another top tier skill he had was Greed. This skill gave Yuuki the power to control the enemy’s desire and command them to do whatever he wanted. He could even command the target to die, no matter how tenacious their will to live was.
Besides his skills and abilities, Yuuki also possessed two legendary pieces of equipment known as Snake Sword and Veldanava Sword. The former could change its shape freely and absorb damage, while the latter could allow its owner to use energy beyond his limit.
During the final battle, Yuuki was powerful enough to defeat Milim, Guy, Ramiris, Velgrynd, Velzado, Veldora, and many more.
II. How Strong Is Rimuru? – Skills & Abilities
By the end of the series, Rimuru surpasses Veldanava to become the strongest character in TenSura. With powers rivaling a god, not only can he journey anywhere anytime he likes, but he can also travel between worlds.
While he started as a mere human in a different world to a slime in this world, he evolved at an absurd level. After becoming a demon slime, his powers further enhanced, and he acquired top-tier abilities such as Infinite Regeneration, Universal Thread, and so forth. However, that still wasn’t his limit.
After engulfing and analyzing the powers of his best friend Veldora in his fight against Velgrynd, Rimuru acquired the powers of a dragon and gained the ability called Storm Dragon. This magic gave him access to powerful spells such as Dark Lightning, Death-Calling Wind, and Storm of Destruction, each more devastating than the other.
After the fight with Yuuki, Rimuru gained the ability to travel across Space-Time at will and even reached godhood by the end. Suffice to say; he is stronger than anyone in TenSura, let alone Yuuki.
2. Did Yuuki Defeat Rimuru?
Yuuki did not defeat Rimuru and was instead killed by him. After Rimuru learned to travel through space and time, he returned to the battle scene and devoured Yuuki, absorbing all of his abilities and ensuring his death.
During the final battle, Rimuru, Guy, Chloe, Mirimu fought against Velda and almost defeated him when Yuuki appeared. With Velda’s fill power, he banished Rimuru to the ends of space and time, thus successfully winning for a short period of time.
During his banishment for an unknown amount of time, Rimuru absorbed massive amounts of nihility and mastered the ability to manipulate time and space.
With this newfound skill, he returned to the time when the fight occurred and succeeded in defeating Yuuki. After doing so, Rimuru devoured Yuuki and absorbed all of his power, resulting in the latter’s death.
