Is Solo Leveling Ending? Is Chapter 177 the Final Chapter?

Solo Leveling is ending, but it still has a few more chapters before it’s completely wrapped up. Chapter 177, released on December 15, gives us a conclusion to the war between the Monarchs and the Rulers. But it’s not the last chapter.

According to the light novel on which the manhwa is based, the main ending lies in the side stories.

It’s common for Korean novels to have their endings interspersed in side stories or bonus chapters.

I don’t want to completely spoil the ending for people who haven’t read the novel, but let’s just say the bonus chapters salvage the false manhwa ending that a lot of readers found unsatisfying.

Does Solo Leveling have an Epilogue?

Yes, the Solo Leveling light novel has an epilogue, which is the final arc of the story. The epilogue is the 21st arc of the story that deals with Jin Woo traveling back in time to create a different ending.

It includes the side stories and comprises Chapters 244 to 270 and has not yet been adapted into the webtoon.

The current manhwa Chapter 177 of Solo Leveling is based on Chapter 243 of the light novel. This means we have about 30 chapters worth of content to give us the closure we need and deserve.

The actual number of webtoon chapters we get depends on how much of the epilogue the creators decide to adapt, but going by the looks of things, we will probably get all of it.

Jin Woo vs. Antares – Who Wins?

During the Final Battle Arc, Jin Woo absorbs all the powers of Ashborn, the King of the Dead, and becomes the new Shadow Monarch.

In the battle with Antares, the strongest Monarch and the King of Dragons, Jin Woo defeats him in the end, but only with the help of the Rulers that impale Antares with their spears.

Antares is actually winning until the Rulers show up. Antates was the Monarch of Destruction and honestly, his abilities surpassed that of Jin Woo. The thing that saves him is that he was able to open up the Gate by contacting the Rulers through Andres and Zhigang, the human vessels of the two Rulers.

Does Jin Woo die?

Jin Woo has died before and might die again. But with time travel, death is not really the end.

Jin Woo hasn’t really been Jin Woo since the the Double Dungeon incident. He received his powers and that made him more than human.

At the end of Chapter 177, Jin Woo asks the leader of the Rulers, the Brightest Fragment of Luminosity, if he can use the Cup of Reincarnation to go back 10 years and reset time. He wants to kill the Monarchs and save everyone that died.

Remember the fortune teller that Jin Woo met a few chapters ago? She said he would succeed but at a heavy price. Does this mean that Jin Woo will save humanity but die, like, really die, in the process?

The thing is, the only way Jin Woo succeeds in his quest is if he remained Shadow Monarch with Ashborn’s memories. That would make Jin Woo an immortal, an eternal being unaffected by age.
