Is The King’s Man a Prequel? What Is It About?

The Kingsman franchise is one of the few spy action-thrillers that blends impeccable action choreography with witty writing. The first two films followed the adventures of Harry Hart and Eggsy from the Kingsman Secret Service as they saved humanity from constant threats.

The third entry to join this series is The King’s Man, but things are slightly different this time around. With the film’s trailer showcasing vintage vibes and many new faces, the film feels a tad bit different. In fact, we don’t see our usual men in black at all.

The King’s Man is actually an origin story that depicts the rise of the first-ever independent secret service. Set in the 1900s, the film is about preventing a war that can potentially wipe out millions.

Two trailers have come out so far, and both are loaded with action, blood, comedy, and of course, chaos! We are introduced to the infamous Rasputin, and his depiction is a hilarious dig at all the rumors and myths surrounding this enigmatic personality.

But that’s not even the main attraction of these glimpses. In this film, we see a new protagonist, played by Ralph Fiennes, who seemingly forms and leads Kingsman, the first independent intelligence agency. Everything we saw in the first two films finds its origins here. Even ‘Manners maketh man.’

The trailer is definitely retro, yet some things haven’t changed. The suave aura of the agents, the stylized edits and cuts, and of course, the wit in the screenplay, will make you want to watch the film right away.

There’s a tiny glimpse of the Kingsman-style weapons, sharp dress code, training sessions, and everything else that we fell in love with in the first two films.

Now that all the bling is out of the way, let’s get to the core content!

Plot Summary – What Is The King’s Man About?

The trailer teases a potential war being plotted to pit various nations against each other and get rich by it. Ralph Fiennes and his team of agents, who include Gemma Arterton (Polly), Djimon Hounsou (Shola), and Harris Dickinson (Conrad), are on a mission to prevent this war.

Rasputin

The film will shed light on the origins of the modern-day Kingsman, and I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds. However, that’s not even the most exciting part. The film depicts real-life historical figures such as Rasputin and various others in a satirical manner which looks like a lot of fun.

The King’s Man comes out to the theatres on December 22, 2021, and I can’t contain my excitement any more!
