One Piece Anime Takes a 2-week Break: Return Date and More!

One Piece is one of the most fantastic anime shows out there, and it’s got a massive following of die-hard fans. With rumors of a hiatus swirling around, many are left wondering when the next episode of this beloved series will air.

The most recent episode of One Piece, “Sanji’s Mutation – The Two Arms in Crisis!” had us all hooked with Sanji and Queen’s fight getting super intense. And then it ended on a cliffhanger! Unfortunately, the next episode, “Death to Your Partner! Killer’s Deadly Gamble!” won’t air for a while.

Following the latest One Piece TV anime episode, a preview for the next episode was released on the official YouTube account. The preview revealed that after a two-week break, the next One Piece anime broadcast would resume on March 19, 2023.

Despite the break, I’m glad the show isn’t going on an indefinite hiatus like several other much-loved anime in the industry.

Why is One Piece Anime Going on a Break?

One Piece anime is taking a break due to some time slot issues.

The reason for the hiatus is the national marathon, which has taken over most of the broadcasting slots on TV channels. This means that One Piece will miss out on three episode releases during the period.

The Tokyo Marathon 2023 is a national event held once a year, which clashes with the airing of One Piece episodes.

But hey, maybe it’s not all bad news. This break could give the One Piece animation team extra time to get ahead of schedule and prep for the most intense sequences of Wano’s saga.

There’s still so much to come in this arc, like Kaido vs. Luffy, which means we’re in for even more captivating action scenes that’ll take our breath away.

Even though fans are bummed about having to wait for new episodes, they’re still super excited for One Piece to come back. I can’t wait to see what the One Piece team has in store for us in the upcoming episodes!

About One Piece

One Piece is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since July 22, 1997.

The man who had acquired everything in this world, the Pirate King, is Gol D. Roger. The final words he said at the execution tower were “My treasures? If you want it, I’ll let you have it. Look for it; I left all of it at that place.” These words sent many to the seas, chasing their dreams, headed toward the Grand Line, in search of One Piece. Thus began a new age!

Seeking to be the greatest pirate in the world, young Monkey D. Luffy also heads toward the Grand Line in search of One Piece. His diverse crew is joining him along the way, consisting of a swordsman, marksman, navigator, cook, doctor, archaeologist, and cyborg-shipwright, this will be one memorable adventure.
