Is Nacht the Real Deal When It Comes to Devil Possession?

Nacht is the most mysterious character in Black Clover so far. In a desperate situation where both Yami and William are abducted.

He just appeared out of nowhere, claiming that he’s the vice-captain of the Black Bulls. Other than Jack, Julius, and Yami, no one knows anything about Nacht.

Fans have been suspicious about his existence since his first appearance, but he proved it otherwise. Although he is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, he has good intentions. Despite his self-proclaimed hate for Yami and Black Bull members, he helps them.

We needed someone to save us from the chaotic mess Dark Triad committed, and we got Nacht. Surprisingly he knows the Spade kingdom in and out. Nacht is a secretive man; he almost seems like an assassin.

It is not just Asta and the Dark Triad who are devil-possessed; Nacht is also a host. Unlike others, it’s not only one devil who possesses him but four!

1. Nacht’s devils

Tabata is known for referencing myths and fairytales in Black Clover. His characters’ powers and magic have represented many of the Greek myths. Even the character’s names explain their personalities or past.

Similarly, Nacht’s devils are a reference to a German fairytale called Town Musicians of Breman. The fairytale follows the story of a dog, cat, donkey, and rooster. Nacht’s four devils take up the form of these animals. He summons them through relics.

We only know of Gimodelo (dog devil) and Slotos (donkey devil) names. Gimodelo seems pretty friendly, like a harmless puppy. Earlier fans suspected other devils were different forms of Gimodelo.

However, all of them are different and possess individual powers.

When Nacht assimilates with Gimodelo, he gains the ability to make various clones of himself.

Slotos grants Nacht enhanced physical resilience, which enables him to move under gravity pressure. Excluding their forms, Nacht’s other two devils remain a secret. Gimodelo is scared of Nacht, and it’s understandable; he seems freaky.

2. Is Nacht stronger than Asta?

Yes, Nacht is stronger than Asta. It is not because of the type of magic he wields but the way he uses it. Anti Magic can cut through any magic, but Nacht’s manipulation of shadow magic is on a large scale basis.

He can travel between spaces like a spatial mage. Nacht’s shadow magic works like a pit of darkness, and shadows imprison his opponents.

Most of the fans assumed multiple possession is not possible, but Nacht did a mic drop. Four devils possess him! Nacht has a binding contract with all of them.

Due to this Devil-Binding Ritual, Nacht has complete power over them, and they will follow all his commands. He can assimilate with their forms, which transforms his body.

Black Asta is not a complete form, or instead, it’s fake. Liebe himself isn’t sure what he is doing, which is funny considering all his death threats.

Unlike Nacht, Asta refused to enslave Liebe. Nacht mentions since Liebe is Asta’s equal and not his servant, it will be difficult to use 100% of his devil powers.

Does that mean the forbidden Devil-Binding Ritual empowers Nacht to use 100% of his devils’ powers? Not even Dante and Zenon could do that.
