Is Jigen Stronger Than Naruto And Sasuke? Can They Truly Defeat Him?

A decisive battle looms over the horizon, with Episode 204 of Boruto slated to release over the weekend! The leader of the Kara, Jigen, has finally revealed himself and is about to face two of the greatest shinobi in history!

Even the series director, Masayuki Koda, has fans hyped over social media, stating the next episode will be amazing!

The mystery surrounding the Kara and its leader Jigen has slowly begun to unravel. Fostering Kawaki was bound to lead the Kara right to Konoha village, and it seems that precisely that has come to pass.

Growing impatient with Kashin Koji, Jigen took matters into his own hands and teleports to Konoha to retrieve Kawaki in Episode 203 and Chapter 36 of the manga.

Wanting to protect Naruto, Kawaki eventually agreed to go back with Jigen. Despite Kawaki’s pleas, Naruto engaged in a fight with Jigen, refusing to give up Kawaki to him.

Wanting to get the nuisance out of the way, Jigen then used space-time ninjutsu to teleport himself and the Hokage to a different dimension– intending to leave him there trapped.

Luckily, Sasuke was able to track Naruto’s chakra and made a prompt appearance with a flashy kick to Jigen’s face. Without any worries of the village or its people being caught in the crossfire, Sasuke and Naruto are set to go all out!

Jigen is not stronger than Naruto and Sasuke. The two didn’t go all out during the fight and were surprisingly low on chakra. Yet, Jigen depleted nearly all his chakra fighting the duo. His body reached its limits just from using his full power for a short while.

1.  What Makes Jigen So Strong?

Jigen is the leader of the Kara and the host of Isshiki Otsutsuki, whose sole goal is to cultivate the God Tree and obtain the Chakra Fruit. Jigen had initially been a simple monk.

However, Isshiki took over his body after being betrayed by Kaguya. Isshiki tried to embed Jigen with Karma, but his body wasn’t strong enough, leaving Isshiki’s powers stifled.

Yet, Jigen is still a formidable foe mainly because of his ability to absorb any jutsu, no matter the size or potency. He also has the ability to shrink any object, store it in a pocket dimension, release it, and enlarge it at will.

He can also shrink himself, giving him more mobility in combat. With his impressive Taijutsu skills and scientifically modified body, Jigen was strong enough to pressurize Naruto and Sasuke in a 1v2.

Yet, despite having his body scientifically modified by Amado, Jigen could only use his powers for a short period of time. Using his powers to the fullest strained his body to the limit, even leaving cracks.

Moreover, once he has used too much, it took nearly two whole days to recover and replenish his chakra.

Another one of his weaknesses is that his mobility is compromised when absorbing a jutsu, leaving him open to attacks from a second party. Sasuke and Naruto took advantage of this weakness a great deal during their fight.

2. Do Naruto And Sasuke Defeat Jigen?

Jigen defeated Naruto and Sasuke. Naruto was sealed in the other dimension, and Sasuke was forced to retreat. The pair lost because they didn’t go all out against Jigen despite having several other techniques at their disposal.

Jigen was strong enough to overpower Naruto in Six Path Sage Mode, sealing him and forcing Sasuke to retreat. His jutsu-absorbing technique was arguably the biggest edge he had in the battle.

He was able to absorb the Rasengan and even Sasuke’s Amaterasu while continually attacking them with chakra-absorbing rods. Jigen even mocked Susanoo before obliterating it instantly.

However, the shinobi duo didn’t go all out against Jigen. Naruto could’ve beaten Jigen with ease were he to use Baryon Mode that made an appearance later in the series. He also very uncharacteristically ran out of chakra. The Seventh could’ve summoned way more clones than he did as well.

Sasuke was arguably weakened from teleporting several times that day while investigating the coordinates from the airship.

However, there was a myriad of techniques Sasuke could have used that would’ve turned the tide. Using Amenotejikara temporarily gave him an edge in combat but further drained his chakra. Instead, he could have used the other Rinnegan paths.

Techniques like Shinra Tensei, Chibaku Tensei instead would have taken lesser chakra and might’ve been effective against Jigen.
