The face of the Jujustu Kaisen franchise, the beloved blue-eyed man who has captivated the whole internet with his strength, eccentricity, and dazzling looks, Gojo Satoru, seems to have reached his end.
Gojo Satoru seems dead in chapter 236 of Jujutsu Kaisen manga, released on Sunday, September 24. Gojo was chopped in half by the king of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna.
Gege Akutami has fired up the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom with this move. An absolutely gut-wrenching scene that I still can’t recover from, and things don’t seem to be hopeful.
1. Is Gojo Satoru really dead?
Gojo Satoru is most probably dead, as seen in chapter 236 of the manga. Sukuna came up with a dirty card trick. He figured out a way to counter Gojo’s infinity technique and literally sliced through his body.
Chapter 236 of the Jujustu Kiasen manga starts off with Gojo meeting his dead friends Geto, Nanami, Haibara, Riko, and Kuroi.
He has a fascinating conversation with Geto, where Geto asks him about his fight with Sakuna.
Gojo commends Sukuna’s strength and tells Geto that Sukuna didn’t even go all out on him and that he probably wouldn’t be able to defeat sukuna even if he did not have Megumi’s cursed technique.
He tells him that he gave it his all and wishes that Geto could be there to motivate him. He then converses with them a bit more before bidding farewell.
Then, the next scene is where your heart will drop; it’s where Gojo is lying and seemingly bleeding to death.
Sukuna then reveals how Mahoraga’s technique worked against Gojo. Mahoraga’s can adapt to an ability once exposed to it.
Then, when Mahoraga attacked Gojo, it was even stronger than Sukuna’s attack. It sliced right through Gojo’s Infinity as Mahoraga targeted the space around Gojo.
2. Will he recover?
We all can’t digest the fact that Gojo could possibly die, and Sukuna proved us all wrong. We have a sliver of hope that Gojo might make the comeback.
However, since Gojo made it back from Toji’s surprise attack, where Gojo even commented that Toji should have gone for Gojo’s head, in this scenario, he could make a comeback since Gojo’s head is intact.
Also, at the end of the chapter, Kashimo appears, which may provide a chance for Gojo’s survival.
After all, killing Gojo is as outrageous as killing Naruto from his own show or Dazai from Bungou Stray Dogs.

Jujutsu Kaisen, also known as Sorcery Fight, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since March 2018.
An anime television series adaptation produced by MAPPA premiered in October 2020.
The story revolves around Yuuji Itadori, a high-school student who, despite hating athletics, is insanely fit. Yuuji gets involved in the world of sorcery when he swallows a powerful talisman to protect his friends from its curse.
On observing that Yuuji wasn’t affected much even when inflicted with this curse, Satoru decides to send Yuuji on a quest to save the world.
