Michi, Sanae, and Towa meet their club advisor in episode 3 of Ippon Again!, titled “She Changes the Mood Entirely”. Michi and Sanae mistake the big muscular scary P.E. teacher, Gonda, as their advisor but are relieved to know that it is another teacher named Natsume. Natsume uses her skills to prepare the girls for their first team match.
Towa meets her old senior, and she challenges her in the next match. Towa is anxious about their match, but Michi’s cheerful behavior helps her to get more courage to face her match.

Episode 4 Speculation
Episode 3 is titled “With the Three of Us, We’ll be Fine”. The girls are playing their first team match together as high school students. Although there is anxiety, they are also excited and determined to face their opponents. Towa will once again prove why she is the ace of their Judo club.
Sanae will also try her best to win, wanting to do better than her last match. The three girls, with Natsume’s guidance, will give their best for their team!

Episode 3 Recap
Michi and Sanae play an otome game and fantasize about their club advisor, who has been away on a trip, looking like one of the leads. Their hopes are dashed when a muscular, scary-looking teacher confiscates their phones. They hear that he is their P.E. teacher and unhappily believe that he is their Judo advisor too.
Michi, Sanae, and Nagumo run laps during their P.E. class. They quickly realize how hard-headed and strict Gondo is and gets told off by him. He tells Nagumo to dye her hair red but Michi intervenes and tells him that she has her brownish-red color naturally.
Michi introduces herself and Gondo begins asking questions about the Judo club intensely. Another teacher rushes towards him, takes him down easily with an ippon, and tells him to communicate better with the students, especially as the advisor of the rugby team.
Michi and Sanae are thrilled when they realize that the cool teacher named Natsume is actually their Judo advisor, not Gondo. As she observed them during their last practice, she tells them to not practice without her since Judo is a dangerous sport.
They all spar together in the practice hall and the three quickly realize how strong Natsume is. She tells them that she will help them get prepared for their first team match.
The girls eat at Denny’s after practice. The waiter gives Michi an order of parfait and she automatically eats it, remembering too late that she never ordered it. One of the girls from the other table who ordered gets up to meet Towa. Towa anxiously introduces her as her old senior, Erika Amane.
Erika reminds Towa of what she did to her in middle school and tells her to play middle for Inter-High qualifiers since she is playing middle for Kaumigaoka School, too, with her teammates and wants to face her as an opponent.
Towa remembers her middle school when she joined Judo and quickly became good at Judo due to her school despite recently starting. When she went against Erika, she won and smirked at her in their match which upsets Erika.
Michi notices something’s wrong with Towa during their practice, and she and Sanae are successful in once again cheering her up. They practice wholeheartedly for their match.
The day of the match arrives and Towa meets Nagumo on the train while going. Nagumo tells her that she is playing as a representative of their kendo club and will win, so she should focus on winning too. Michi and Sanae arrive, out of breath, barely making it on time.
The girls arrive at the tournament place and Sanae has to constantly go to the bathroom due to her anxiety. Michi reassures Towa that it’s common. They meet Erika’s group and she asks Towa if she is playing middle as she asked. Seeing her expression, Michi reassures Towa, and she announces that she is the middle of the Aoba West Judo club.
About Mou Ippon!
Mou Ippon! is a manga series by Yu Muraoka that debuted in the Weekly Shonen Champion magazine in October 2018. It received an anime adaptation in January 2023.
The series begins by showing how Michi, Towa, and Sanae, three middle-school girls became friends due to their love of judo. While Michi wanted to leave the sports, the other two reminded her of the feeling of ippon. Together, they constitute the judo club in their school.
