Ever since season 1 of Invincible landed on Prime Video, viewers have been clamoring for a second season. After Omni-Man’s mass destruction and departure, fans have waited for a new update since the series was renewed for two more seasons in April 2021. And now we’ve finally got it!
Well, the show’s official Twitter account @InvincibleHQ teased that a season 2 update will come our way in about a month, revealing there will be more information on the upcoming season in January 2023. You can check out their tweet below:
Maybe they know we’ve had too long a wait, or the update is going to be one that will provide much information. Will it be a trailer with the release date revealed at the end? Or will it be the confirmation of which antagonist will season 2 feature as the main villain?
Season 1 ended with Omni-Man returning to his home planet after failing to do his duty. The Viltrumites who sent him in the first place to infiltrate and conquer Earth might try their own invasion after his return in season 2. Or there could be an entirely new antagonist, someone we know from the comics.
Or we could finally see the animated version of Angstrom Levy, Mark’s number-one nemesis, with his powers allowing him to travel between alternate realities. Showrunner Kirkman has already hinted that Levy’s introduction to the show is something the writers have been pondering upon for quite some time.
Whether the update is about the mystery antagonist or the final reveal of the season 2 trailer, we’ll definitely know in a month, as promised by Invincible HQ.
