Leaker Reveals Specs for Intel 14th Gen Raptor Lake non-K series

Intel is expected to launch the upcoming 14th Gen Core Raptor Lake series featuring 14900K, 14700K, and 14600K processors. These units are set to hit the markets around October. Intel also plans to launch non-K models for the Raptor Lake series with a 65W TDP and lesser overclocking ability.

According to recent leaks, the Core i7-14700 will feature 20 cores similar to its K-series model. Additionally, the i5-14400 and i3-14100 might also get upgraded with more cores. The i5-14400 will feature 6 Performance and 4 Efficient Cores, the same as its predecessor.

There isn’t any significant upgrade for the Raptor Lake series in terms of base frequency and L3 cache. However, the 14700K features 33MB L3 cache as a result of its total cores.

The P-Core base frequency for the Core i5-14500 will be 2.6 GHz. There are no reports about boost clocks, but one can expect them to be similar to the K-series.

Luckily, the 14th Gen CPUs will be compatible with older motherboards such as the 12th Gen or 13th Gen series. At most, you will be required to install a BIOS update. This is essentially a platform extension for the LGA-1700 socket.

Intel is expected to launch its 14th Gen Core non-K series early next year. This will likely be the last significant update featuring the LGA-1700 platform. Although the exact details have not been revealed yet, the pricing of the new series will not be drastically different.
