The official website for the anime adaptation of the Patora Fuyuhara’s In Another World With My Smartphone light novel series released a promotional video for the second season of the series.
The video unveils the April 3 debut of the season and previews the opening theme song “Real Diamond” by the seven-member unit Gemstone7.
The new season will feature a returning cast with Miyu Takagi starring as Lucia Rea Regulas, Yu Serizawa as Hildegard Minas Lestia, and Miyu Kubota as Sakura.
The plot of the light novels follows 15-year-old Mochizuki Touya, who wakes up to find himself face to face with god after being killed by a lightning strike in a freak accident. ON meeting god, Touya finds out that his death was a mistake and that god could remedy this.
He is told that he can be reincarnated into a fantasy world, and as a bonus, he can bring his smartphone along with him. This sets Touya up for some interesting adventures in a new, anachronistic pseudo-medieval world.
The story documents the shenanigans Touya gets up to in this world and contains several small tales of sorcery, battle, and smartphone apps.
The first season of the series premiered in July 2017 and aired for 12 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan, and an English dub was streamed by Funimation.
The second season will feature a new staff and animation studio, with Yoshiaki Iwasaki directing the anime at J.C. Staff. Deko Akao is handling series composition. Chinatsu Kameyama is serving as character designer and chief animation director.

In Another World With My Smartphone is a light novel series by Patora Fuyuhara and Eiji Usatsuka. It received an anime adaptation in 2017.
After God accidentally kills Touya, God offers him one wish and the chance to live again in a magical world.
Touya happily accepts the offer and, for his one wish, asks only to keep his smartphone with him as he begins his journey into this mysterious world.
The second season of the series will release on April 3, 2023.
