Chapter 4 Recap
In a flashback from Nakajima’s point of view, we learn that he was humiliated for being short and not very masculine. Tsubasa starts speaking to him, and they form a close friendship. They begin to play soccer together, something they both excel at together and become partners.
In the present, Tsubasa pours milk all over himself and even writes “Shorty” on his shirt and “Die” in his books. He continues to bully him. In flashbacks, Tsubasa asks him to join the junior soccer team together. They promise to be together in junior high.
Tsubasa quits soccer because of issues with his family, and Nakajima’s friends encourage him to play without him, but he is less skilled than he was when he played with Tsubasa. When Nakajima makes it to the soccer team, he asks Tsubasa to play with him because of their promise, but Tsubasa calls him disgusting and triggering Nakajima’s hatred towards him. He pushes Tsubasa.
In the present, Nakajima, on his knees, apologizes to Tsubasa. He says that he was selfish and apologizes for making everything about himself. Tsubasa exclaims and says that is not true.
