HP Zbook FireFly 14 G10 Workstation Spotted W/ AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 7840HS

AMD Phoenix APU launch will feature Zen4 and RDNA3 architectures. AMD has not confirmed the existence of their Ryzen PRO 7000 series, but it seems at least two processors from this series, including PRO 7940HS and PRO 7840HS, will be introduced in the launch.

According to a new leak, the HP Zbook FireFly 14 G10 workstation will feature a Ryzen 7 PRO 7840HS CPU with 8 cores and 16 threads. The full system specs are still undisclosed, but an AMD Radeon PRO graphics logo can be spotted on the official page.

The HP ZBook FireFly 14 G10 is already equipped with Intel Rocket Lake-P and HX CPUs. You can also find a variant with the NVIDIA RTX A500 workstation GPU. So, it will be interesting to see how much power both HP and AMD can bring to the table.

This is the first mention of the clock speeds for the AMD Phoenix PRO variant. According to the report, the processors will feature a 3.8 GHz base clock and a 5.0 GHz boost clock. The latter can easily boost up to 5.1 GHz, the same as the non-PRO variant.

In the Geekbench test, the AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 7840HS managed to achieve 1846 points in the single-core and 10421 points in the multi-core test. No Intel system can match up to this as far as we know. However, there aren’t many records of Raptor Lake-HX systems yet. So, this statistic can change depending on how the Raptor Lake-HX fares.

Although AMD has not mentioned a launch date, the Phoenix APU launch is expected to take place by the end of April. Sadly, the Zen4 mobile chip has been delayed. However, fans will get to finally see the Ryzen PRO 7000 series in action.
