‘Solved by the Bell’ Quest Puzzle Guide – Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy Early Access is out now and as you progress your journey through the game, you’ll come across a treasure hunt quest called Solved by the Bell which has left players confused on how to complete it.

You can trigger the treasure hunt quest by finding a piece of parchment with the location of a map, some drawings of a bell and some musical notes. What you need to do is track down the map location first.

Map Location

The location you need to go to is in the Southeast portion of the map, almost at the tip of the peninsula. You’ll find it by a fast-travel point called Clagmar Castle which is located on the Clagmar Coast. Beside it, you’ll find a Floo Flame.

As soon as you arrive at the area, you’ll have to fight some enemies. Clear the area then fly around on your broom until you spot the bells, then set yourself down on the platform opposite it.

Bell Puzzle Solution

Each of the bells correspond to a musical note and you’re expected to play the tune on the sheet music drawn at the bottom of the note.

For your benefit we’ll name all the bells from top to bottom, 1-9, the highest being 1 while the lowest being 9. Just hit the bells using a regular spell. The sequence in which you need to hit the bells is:

  • Bell 8
  • Bell 5
  • Bell 3
  • Bell 4
  • Bell 5
  • Bell 1
  • Bell 2
  • Bell 4

Hit all the bells in the correct sequence and they’ll play the Harry Potter theme. A chest will appear right next to you and unlocking it will reward you with Treasure Seeker’s Long coat, a cosmetic which will change your appearance.
