Apart from the vast open world filled with treasures and loots to uncover, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has treasures hidden underneath Eivor’s very feet. Yes! These treasures are hidden in secret cave systems throughout AC Valhalla’s world map. One of the most sought-after treasures among these cave systems is the Grimes Graves’ Treasure of Britain.
Reaching the cave can be a dwindling task, especially when you have no idea how to find your way inside the maze-like caves. If you’re on the hunt for the Grimes Graves treasure and looking for a guide to help you out, then look no further; I’ve got you covered!
But first, let me just answer the most common question you all might have about the Grimes Graves treasure, which is the key to the locked door inside the cave.
How to Get Grimes Graves Key to Locked Door in AC Valhalla?
The locked door key is only available to players who had either pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Valhalla or to the players who have the AC Valhalla Beowulf DLC. So, if you’re wondering why the key is not spawning for you, chances are you don’t have the DLC or the pre-ordered game.
If you do have the Beowulf DLC, a particular quest will lead you to the key inside the cave.
Now that that’s out of the way, let me go ahead and tell you how to get the treasure.
How to Get the Treasure of Britain in Grimes Graves?
All you have to do is follow these simple steps to get to the Treasure of Britain and successfully retrieve it from Grimes Graves.
1. Get to the Grimes Graves Location
The Grimes Graves Cave is located on the northwestern island of East Anglia. The cavern is marked with a grave symbol on the map so that you can find your way to it quickly.
The large hole inside the Grimes Graves area indicates the entrance to the cave system.
2. Get Inside the Grimes Graves Cave
To get inside the cave, perform a leap of faith and jump down to start your treasure hunting journey. Once you’re in the cave, you can pull your torch out and light the way as you venture into the dark and gloomy cavern.
The cave’s path is pretty straight and narrow; you just have to keep walking forward and parkour in some areas. But do watch out for pitfalls as they appear out of nowhere and are often swarming with snakes.
Just a tip– If you fall inside a pit, do not panic. You kill the snakes and then climb back up to your original path.
3. Find the Cursed Area
After jumping through ledges and avoiding pitfalls, your path will be blocked by a wall reinforced with wooden beams. You can climb up the wall and slide down to discover a hole leading to the Cursed Area.
To get out of this Cursed Area, all you have to do is find the cursed skull and destroy it. Then you can simply climb back out of the area using the ladder and start heading towards the treasure once again.
Remember to use Odin’s Sight if you’re unable to find the skull in the dark. Also, be sure to loot every corner of the cave.
4. Get the Treasure
If you see any indications of a hanging banner inside the cave, that means you’re near the treasure. But to get to the black flag, you need to jump on top of wooden platforms and balance on thin wooden beams.
Once you go past the black flag, you will find the end of the path and be able to drop downwards. Climb down using the wooden structures there, and you’ll see a small opening with lootable items.
Amongst the items, there is also a table containing some vases and pots. Breaking them will reveal the hidden Treasure of Britain, a.k.a the Mysterious Hilt Tablet.
Then all you have to do is pull the stone shelf sideways to find a staircase leading to a door that you can shoot with arrows.
This door will finally lead you to some ladders escorting you to the outside of the Grimes Graves caves. With the Grimes Graves Treasure collected, you can now focus on the other Treasures of Britain.
