The version mismatch error is a really annoying but the most common error that players face worldwide in Valorant, especially after the game receives an update and they are still running an outdated version of it. 

The error makes the game completely unplayable by barring players from finding a match with their friends or online in general. However, as bothersome as this error sounds it is extremely easy to fix it with just a couple of clicks of your mouse.

1. How to fix the version mismatch error in Valorant?

The version mismatch error can be fixed by updating Valorant to the latest version. To update the game simply launch the Riot Client installed on your PC, which will give a prompt to download the latest version of the game, automatically starting the update process.

Wait till the game gets updated to the latest patch, and then relaunch it. It will now allow you to queue up for matches and play it as usual.

In most of the cases updating the game fixes the error, however, if you are still facing it on the latest version of the game then here are some more tricks you can use to fix it.

2. Repairing the Valorant Game Files

If you are facing this error even on the latest version of the game, then it is possible that one of the game files is corrupted and it needs to be repaired. Luckily, the process to do so is absurdly easy.

To repair Valorant game files:

  1. Launch the Riot client.
  2. Click the profile icon on the top right corner.
  3. Go to Settings, the third option, in the drop-down menu.

Once you are done with repairing the files, relaunch the game. The mismatch error should be fix now.

3. Try Resetting the Network Settings

To reset the network settings:

  1. Click on the Search Bar locatedin the task bar at the bottom of the desktop window.
  2. Seach “Settings” in the search bar.
  3. Open Settings by clicking on the icon.

4. Refresh Internet Connection

This method will actually make you work to solve the connection error using the command prompt. To do so:

  1. Go to the Search Box and type cmd in and select Run as Administrator.
  2. Upon doing so, enter the following commands one after another:
  • ipconfig /flushdns
  • ipconfig /registerdns
  • ipconfig /release
  • ipconfig /renew
  • netsh winsock reset
  • Restart your PC when done.

5. Restart Your PC

Sometimes the fix of an error is way simpler than we expect it to, and in such cases, you should just try the ol’ reliable restart method. It is possible that due to certain technical glitch your PC windows are unable to read the game files or having network issues which is causing the mismatch error.
