Despite fixing myriad pressing issues, New World Patch 1.0.4 turned out to be a disaster as it brought forward a bunch of game-breaking glitches like the Blood Lust bug!
For the unaware, Blood Lust is a Tier VI Passive Great Axe Mastery Skill in New World that belongs to the Reaper Skill tree. The perk increases your movement speed by 30% and deals 15% more damage upon looking at an enemy within 15 meters.
Now, the Blood Lust is supposed to last for only a few seconds, but the skill doesn’t exhaust and switch off due to a bug. As you can imagine, many players are exploiting it to their advantage. Here’s how you, too, can make the most of this glitch.
Triggering the Blood Lust Bug in New World
To trigger the Blood Lust bug in New World, you will have to activate the Blood Lust skill first and then interact with a node or look at enough enemies. Upon doing so, the ability becomes semi-permanent.
The skill is so broken that some players set it off by simply looking at boars, rabbits, or turkeys. Even mining, harvesting plants, and chopping off trees can make Blood Lust last for as long as you want.
When activated, players can cover large distances on foot at a faster speed. This can ultimately help you save your precious Azoth.
Unfortunately, at the same time, many users are unable to trigger this glitch despite interacting with umpteen nodes or cutting any tree in sight.
So, all in all, it’s down to your luck!
Can the Blood Lust Bug in New World Get Me Banned?
It’s completely understandable if you want to rely on this bug for harmless purposes like moving really swiftly. But if you exploit it for unfair advantages in war or farming, chances are Amazon will punish you for violating the MMO’s ToS.
Note: If you are not a scumbag who cheats and want to get rid of the Blood Lust Bug as soon as it’s triggered, change your weapon. The moment you do it, the exploit will cease to exist, and your stats will go back to normal.
We all can agree that the fast travel system in New World is awful. There are no mounts to speak of, and covering significant distances on foot at a slow speed can get really inconvenient. Since the Blood Lust bug fastens your movement speed, I do believe if abusing it makes your life easier, then go ahead by all means.
On the other hand, if traveling across a sprawling map doesn’t bother you one bit, there’s no need to use this exploit. This way, you maintain the spirit of fair gaming by keeping your values ever true.
