In Star Wars Outlaws, NPCs play an integral role in the main storyline. When you are running from the officials, or looking for a new planet to explore, you will meet several important characters who will aid you in missions. One such noble person is Selo Rovak, your go-to for speeder upgrades.
When Kay Vess meets Selo Rovak to upgrade her speeder, she will give you a task to infiltrate the Imperial Wind Harvester and retrieve the Atmospheric Accelerator a.k.a The Mechanic quest.
The Mechanic Location
Complete The Expert Intel first to locate The Mechanic. The new information will be added to your Journal and Map. Head over to Jaunta’s Hope then go to Daruda’s Diner. You can check your map for markers.
The bartender there will tell you about Selo and where to go next. Next, you will head over to talk to Selo’s people. They will tell you where Selo is. Eventually, you will end up at Selo’s Shop.
The Mechanic Walkthrough
Reach the Imperial Wind Harvester
After your talk with Selo, head over to the Wind Harvester. It is to the west of Selo’s shop and is easy to reach.
At the Harvester’s entrance, interact with the switch nearby. It will disable the air vent, allowing you to enter. Use your speeder to travel through the pathway. Keep going until you reach a right turn. Leave your speeder here. You will need to walk from this point on.
Inside the Imperial Wind Harvester
Once inside, drop down and take the lower path. You will soon find a red barrier. Use Nix to disable the barrier and make your way over.
Climb the ladder and follow the straight hallway until the end. Drop down and turn left. Hop on to the bigger pipes. You will see similar air vents here. Observe their pattern and run past when the fans stop. If you get stuck, you will be blown onto the pipes so watch out.
Jump down to the platform below. Look for a yellow generator and shoot it. It will stop the fan’s movement. Walk along the pathway until you reach a giant exposed pipe.
Use the opening to get down and keep going forward. You will reach a narrow opening. Squeeze your way through.
Next, you will encounter moving metal blocks. Just like you did before, time your move correctly and cross over.
Jump onto the grill to reach the top-left platform. Make your way to the top-most platform using your grapple hook.
You will encounter those metal blocks again. Head over to the other side. Climb up and enter the air vent.
Keep going forward until you reach a right turn. Drop down through the opening in the wall to reach the control room. You can find the Atmospheric Accelerator here along with some loot.
Exit the Imperial Wind Harvester
Thankfully, escaping the facility is much easier than getting in. Get out of the control room and keep moving forward. Use your grapple hook to swing across gaps. Your goal is to reach the massive fan platform.
Once there, just walk straight until you see your speeder.
Head back to Selo
Return to Selo’s Shop.
After the cutscene is over, you will receive a new upgrade for your speeder called “Speed Boost”. It will allow you to initiate a burst of speed on your flashy speeder.
