Dead Island 2 is an intense survival horror game that offers a variety of challenging quests, including the Fool’s Gold quest. This mission is part of the Lost & Found quests, which operate like scavenger hunts, leading players on the trail of clues to uncover valuable loot.

Players can complete the Fool’s Gold mission in Dead Island 2 by following these simple steps:
Step 1: Defeat Dante at Lifeguard HQ on Santa Monica Pier.
The quest starts by defeating Dante, a Crusher, at Lifeguard HQ in Santa Monica Pier.
When defeated, he will drop a note and a key, triggering the Fool’s Gold mission.
Step 2: Find the first clue inside Randy’s locker in the Lifeguard HQ lockers.
In the Lifeguard HQ, go to Randy’s locker and use the key to open it. Inside the locker, players will find the second note, which will give two locations for burner phones that contain safe combination codes.
Step 3: Retrieve Randy’s Burner Phone from the amusement park near the Ferris Wheel
Navigate through the amusement park and head toward the Ferris Wheel.
On a bench looking out into the ocean at the far end of the amusement park, players will find Randy’s burner phone. Watch out for Voltaic Screamers, which spawn in this area.
Step 4: Retrieve Dante’s Burner Phone from the alleyway near Luigi’s Pizzeria
Players will find Dante’s burner phone near a trash can and a metal crate in the alleyway near Luigi’s Pizzeria.
Be careful, as the area is crawling with zombies.
Step 5: Unlock the buried safe at Lifeguard HQ to complete the Fool’s Gold mission
Once players have both burner phones, they will have the safe combination code. They can locate the safe in the Lifeguard HQ area where the quest began.
On the South-East side of the building, there is a path with a fence running along it where the safe will be half-buried in the sand. Kill all the Zombies to unlock the safe and retrieve the reward safely.
Rewards for completing the Fool’s Gold quest in Dead Island 2
Upon completing the Fool’s Gold quest in Dead Island 2, players will be rewarded with a bundle of XP and a legendary weapon called Blood Rage.

Blood Rage is a powerful melee weapon that comes with the Superior Melee Puncturator Mod, which is ideal for one-on-one combat or small groups of zombies.
Blood Rage also has two Perks: Puncture Wound and Infectious, which cannot be swapped. However, players can customize the two open slots to suit their preferences.
The Puncture Wound perk allows players to inflict additional critical damage and bleed damage by quickly landing critical hits. This effect can stack multiple times, making it a devastating addition to any player’s arsenal.
The Infectious perk is equally as powerful, as it causes additional bleed damage to any hit zombie. It also makes nearby zombies start bleeding, making it a great way to eliminate multiple enemies at once.
