Euphoria Now the Most Tweeted-About Show of the Decade

In today’s bit of news that is no surprise, Twitter has just shared intel about their trending topics, and HBO’s massive hit drama “Euphoria” is the website’s most popular show.

According to Variety, Twitter has named “Euphoria” the most-tweeted-about series, not just of the year, but of the decade to date.

Twitter also revealed that Fezco (Angus Cloud); Rue Bennett (Zendaya); and Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi) were the most-tweeted about characters from Euphoria, and there were over 270,000 tweets for #FexiHive, the ship between Fezco and Lexi (Maude Apatow).

Celebs and influencers who have tweeted about “Euphoria” this season have included Jack Harlow, Drake, Maren Morris, Halsey, Noah Beck, Chlöe Bailey, Ella Mai, Anitta, Chelsea Peretti, Kid Cudi, Lauren Jauregui, Victoria Monét, Aly & AJ, and Justine Skye.

From hilarious memes, to plot predictions and fashion inspiration, Euphoria has dominated Twitter this season.

The show has built a strong community of dedicated fans who not only root for their favourite characters and scenes, but also openly voice their frustrations and fears, especially as it relates to the fate of characters.

Season 2 of the popular series has been different in its approach and that’s what even Zendaya thinks “It’s a very different season, to be honest. I mean, tonally, it’s different,” Zendaya explained in a recent interview with Today

I think it’s far more emotional than the first season. Much like the film stock that we use this season, which is also different, it’s high contrast, meaning the highs are high, the lows are low. And when it’s funny, it’s really funny. And when it’s painful, it’s really painful.

The season finale of Euphoria season 2 will drop on 27th February on HBO Max and will surely spark a deluge of new tweets to keep the show in the Twitter zeitgeist, at least for a week or so.

Depending on when Euphoria season 3 airs, there’s plenty of time for other shows to steal its thunder, especially since the “of the decade” aspect of Twitter’s news is only in reference to the 2020s, of which there are still eight more years to go.

With so many shows on the way and streaming only getting bigger and bigger, there’s no telling what series will come out on top as the “most-tweeted” by the end of the decade, but Euphoria is off to a good start.
