Black Dragon and Toman: Relationship, Explained! 

Tokyo Revengers is extremely entertaining and has a great storyline. It essentially focuses on the fights between delinquent gangs. These gangs vary in their strength, size and structure.  

Black Dragon and Tokyo Manji Gang(abbreviated as Toman) are the two biker gangs that are based in Tokyo. Both gangs are quite powerful and influential. These gangs have been affiliated with one another after a certain incident.

Black Dragon has always been a direct or indirect reason for Toman’s existence. This relationship turned into an affiliation after Black Dragon was completely defeated by Toman. This Relationship laid out a road for the creation of the 11th Generation Black Dragon. 

How is Black Dragon Related to Toman? 

Black Dragon is a Tokyo motorcycle gang which has been active for generations. Toman is also a biker gang based in Shibuya. Toman is known for taking over several gangs and defeating them. 

In one such incident, the 10th Generation of Black Dragon was defeated in the battle against Tokyo Manji Gang. Following this incident, Black Dragon became a Tokyo Manji Gang affiliate under First Division. 

This affiliation further helped Takemichi Hanagaki to establish the 11th Generation of Black Dragon.

Black Dragon is Indirectly Responsible for the Existence of Toman! 

In Episode 22 of the anime, we learn that Baji created the Tokyo Manji Gang to protect Kazutora from Black Dragon, which became a violent gang and strayed from the principles of Shinichiro Sano. 

Later the 9th generation leader Shion Madarme becomes the reason for Toman’s existence.

Tokyo Revengers is a manga written and illustrated by Ken Wakui. It began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine on March 1, 2017, and ended its run in November 2022. It is compiled into 31 tankobon volumes.

The story revolves around Takemichi Hanagaki, who learned that Tokyo Manji Gang had killed his only ex-girlfriend from back in middle school. After learning about the incident, Takemichi was pushed from the railway platform.
