Home Sweet Home Alone To Release In Time For The Holiday Season

Move aside Home Alone, there’s a new holiday movie coming to town. Home Sweet Home Alone will debut on Disney+ exclusively on November 12.

Home Sweet Home Alone’s new release date heralds the jolly season. 20th Century Studios took to Instagram to make the announcement with the cast decked in Christmas jumpers.

This Disney reboot of the holiday classic has been long in the making. Originally it was to premier in 2020 but was washed away with many films that faced pandemic delays.

Even if the movie could’ve been released in the early months of 2021, we think Disney kept it on hold so that it doesn’t lose out on the holiday enthusiasm.

The movie will have Jojo Rabbit’s Archie Yates are the new kid that gets left behind. His family will be far along in their journey to Japan before they realize their little Max is home alone.

Now he has to protect his family’s precious heirloom from the thieving duo played by Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney.

Other cast members include Ally Maki, Kenan Thompson, Chris Parnell, Aisling Bea, Pete Holmes and even a rumored cameo from the genius who knows all about handling a Home Alone situation — Kevin McCallister, of course, played by Macaulay Culkin.

Home Alone’s status as a classic is undeniable and the fondness it has garnered plays on even three decades later. In fact, many even consider it to be a holiday ritual to watch the movie at least once during the snowy season.

A remake will have high standards to live up to. No pressure, Home Sweet Home Alone.
