Collection Chests in Hogwarts Legacy contain rewards like Wand Handles, Conjuration Recipes and Attribute Traits that can be of great value in the gameplay.
You will need the Alohomora spell to unlock the Chests. Besides this, I would also recommend that you keep the Incendio and Arresto Momentum spells ready in case you need to overcome any chest-related obstacles.
There is a total of 155 Collection Chests out of which 5 of them are hidden in Hogsmeade Village. All these Chests contain only Conjuration Recipes to use in the Room of Requirement.
Here is each of their locations.
1. The Three Broomsticks
You will need a level 1 unlocking spell for this Collection Chest. To get it, you’ll just have to progress the story past “The First Trial” and learn the Alohomora spell from Mr. Moon.
Once you have the spell, head over to the Three Broomsticks and climb up to till you reach the top. You will see a level 1 locked door leading to a Private Room.
Inside, you will find the Collection Chest along with a Demiguise Statue and a Moth Mirror.
2. South Hogsmeade Floo Flame
You will need a level 3, also the highest level, unlocking spell for this Collection Chest, which you can get after collecting the required number of Demiguise Moons and handing them over to Mr. Moon.
After getting the highest-ranking Alohomora spell, go to the South Hogsmeade Floo Flame. Take the stairs going downwards on the right till you find a house with a level 3 locked door. Enter the bedroom on the second floor.
You will find the Collection Chest hidden amongst some other treasure Chests.
3. Near Flutes and Lutes
You will need a level 3 unlocking spell for this Collection Chest.
After getting the highest-ranking Alohomora spell, look for the Flutes and Lutes shop in the southeast of Hogsmeade. Southwest of the shop you will find a small house with a level 3 locked door.
Inside, you will see the Collection Chest just before the staircase, amongst some other treasure Chests.
4. Near Honeydukes
You will need a level 3 unlocking spell for this Collection Chest.
After getting the highest-ranking Alohomora spell, go to the Central Hogsmeade Floo Flame and look for Honeydukes on your right. Walk past it to find two houses along the ridge and enter the one with a level 3 locked door.
Inside, you will find the Collection Chest.
5. Ashwinder Hideout
You will not need an unlocking spell for this last Collection Chest but you will be required to complete the “A Basis for Blackmail” Quest to access this location.
Once you finish the Quest, find the Hog’s Head Inn and go down to the cellar below it to find Ashwinder Hideout.
You will find the Collection Chest inside.

Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world RPG from Avalanche Studio. The game places the player in the wizarding school of Hogwarts, allowing them to witness the iconic locations as a character other than Harry Potter.
The game has an expansive map that makes the game very immersive, even for people who are yet to read the books or watched the movie.
The mysterious, gripping storyline, with the vast areas to explored, either on foot or broomstick, makes it even more real life.
