Blade enters as a transfer student into the School of Heroes, with no other goal but to make 100 friends in episode 1 of Hero Classroom titled “Earnest.”
Entering a school filled with gifted individuals and extremely strong warriors, Blade stands out amongst them all as he wields the same technique as the Great Hero of the past. However, all he wants to do in life is to be a normal kid and make many friends.
His first friend is someone feared by everyone in the school, the wielder of the cursed Blade, Earnest Fleming. Holding in her possession a Demon Sword named Asmodeus, nobody would approach or be friends with her until the arrival of Blade.

Asmodeus has finally acknowledged Earnest as his owner, and the cursed Blade will now be under her control. This will prove a considerable power boost to Earnest, as she no longer has to worry about going out of control or being entirely drained by the sword’s will.
Besides that, Blade’s story seems like it may go much deeper than he makes it out to be. While he attempts to live an everyday school life and appear very carefree to everyone around him, he knows the King personally and also wields the technique of the Great Hero.
There is a possibility that he is the reincarnation or the descendant of the Hero himself, or possibly some after-effect of the battle that killed both the Hero and the Demon Lord, considering his dual hair color that has both the demon and hero’s colors.

3. Recap of Episode
The Hero fights against the great Demon Lord, going all out in a legendary battle that ends with them exhausting everything to kill each other. That brings our protagonist, Blade, to this new school to create the next Hero, and he has no other objective but to make friends.
He runs into Earnest Fleming, the top-ranking in the school, who Blade immediately pisses off. The two of them walk into the headmaster’s office and find the King sitting on his chair, where he announces that he will be the new headmaster of the school and requests to speak to Blade in private.
The King asks him to regain his powers as the Hero, but he wants to live as an average human. Walking into the advanced class, Blade immediately tries to make friends with everyone there. Earnest requests a test of Blade’s strength since he skipped the lower class and just walked into the advanced course, prompting Blade to use his Dragon Series attack on a lowly dummy.
Earnest takes back her insults from when they first met and apologizes for everything she said. Blade immediately labels them as friends since they even ate lunch together, and she gets flustered yet overjoyed at the idea that she finally gained a friend in this school.
The following day, Earnest begins training harder and even more seriously as she refuses the will of her cursed sword. Passing out in the middle of a duel, Blade takes her to the infirmary, makes sure that she recovers safely, and even carries her out back to class.
Later in the night, Blade learns about the demon sword Asmodeus, and confronts Earnest about it. She explains her backstory of a cursed blade forced upon a child. Her stubborn nature was the only thing keeping Asmodeus back all these years.
She can try to get the sword to acknowledge her as its owner, but if she fails, it will summon a bloodthirsty demon. The risk was too high thus far, but now that Blade is on her side, she gains the confidence to go against the monster and enters a duel for a pact with the devil, launching fiery strikes that end in her victory.

Hero Classroom also known as Classroom of Heroes is a light novel series written by Shin Araki and illustrated by Haruyuki Morisawa, first published in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Ultra Jump between February and August 2015. A manga adaptation by Koara Kishida has been serialized since 2016 via Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan.
The series focuses on Blade, a relaxed transfer student who explore Rosewood Academy in an attempt to make friends. He meets Arnest Fleming, the top student at the academy yet still rivaled in strength by the newbie student Blade.
