HBO Max is one of the best streaming platforms, with a wide range of entertaining titles and releases – a feast for our eyes and minds. And the latest news for all subscribers is this: the OTT media service is awaiting a new name on May 23.
HBO Max will be retitled as Max, signaling a new streaming era and hopes for a larger audience. This change will be associated with a new programming slate and new subscription tiers.
But before Max takes off, HBO Max has several top-notch movies and TV shows lined up for the streaming service. And here I compiled a list for your viewing pleasure.
The biggest HBO Max release in May’23 is the satirical series White House Plumbers on May 1. The Other Two S3, Unicorn: Warriors Eternal, and Spy/Master will also premiere on May 4, 5, and 19, respectively. Other releases include The Men in Black movies and the rest of Succession S4.

Warner Bros. Discovery is yet to confirm the movies that shall leave HBO Max, or rather, Max after May. Also, the releases after May 22 have yet to be full announced, but Shazam! Fury of the Gods and the finale of Succession S4 on May 28 are the major additions we know of.
Max subscribers can also expect the newly announced Harry Potter spin-off series, a Big Bang Theory show, the GoT prequel series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, a drama series set in the Conjuring universe, and The Penguin series featuring Colin Farell on the streaming platform. The latest theatrical releases like Evil Dead Rise, The Flash, and Barbie are also expected to have an OTT release on the platform soon.
