As Asahi smashes the ball in the opposite court, it earns him the praise of both Karasuno and Inarizaki for his service ace. Captain Shinsuke receives his next serve, and Aran attempts to spike it, which gets blocked by Tsukishima.

Osamu attempts for their reverse minus tempo quick attack once again, but this time, their timing is off. Atsumu misses the ball, and Kita dives to save it.

Kageyama sets the ball for Daichi, who surprises everyone with a back attack. Kita attempts to receive it, but the ball flies off to the Inarizaki banner.

Everyone predicts another reverse minus tempo by Miya twins. Osamu sets the ball again. While everyone is ready to block Atsumu, Arans lands his spike through Karasuno’s defense.

Kita gets subbed out, and Ginjima enters the court. He manages to do a direct spike right away and puts Inarizaki at match point.

Later, Tanaka’s cross-shot gets blocked by Omimi, but Nishinoya prevents it from landing. Kageyama sets to Hinata, who gets the ball over, but Aran manages to receive the ball up. The ball was pretty low, yet Atsumu makes a proper set while bending backward.

Tanaka remembers when Kageyama refused his earlier request to have fewer sets. He finally realized that it was really because the first year was being truthful in saying that Karasuno needed the second year’s attacks.

Kageyama questions himself if the cross-shot is really Tanaka’s best weapon. He sets the ball to Tanaka, who clears Kageyama’s doubts with an extreme straight shot that lands right on the sideline.

We get to see Oikawa, who is watching the match from a different location while out on a run. Seeing the intense match of his rival who would inevitably surpass him on the court in more ways, he channels his frustration through his run and gets judged by random strangers.

Kageyama prepares for the next serve, which would greatly affect the course of the match. His serve is received by Osamu, who gets astonished by Kageyama’s ability to make such a powerful serve so late into the game.

The ball once again gets over the net, both Suna and Kageyama attempt to reach it first. Kageyama reaches the ball first, but the ball heads straight down, resulting in a major misplay.

Hinata saves the ball with his foot to kick it up and over the net. Although Karasuno scores from it, Kageyama asks Hinata to criticize for his poor set. Hinata instead says that he can deal with such a set again.
