Haikyu!! Manga Chapter 369 Reveals Nishinoya’s Whereabouts

Haikyuu is in its final arc, with the new re-structured Haikyuu!! The Top series. A major time-skip occurred after chapter 369, which saw our favorite highschool volleyball stars transition to young adults.

One thing felt odd, though; Yu Nishinoya had not been shown in the manga since the time-skip occurred. Readers were given no information about his whereabouts, i.e., till now.

Chapter 386, titled “Freedom,” shows Yu Nishinoya in the canon story with a stunning color spread after 16 chapters of him being absent in the story. This is the longest duration that he hadn’t made an appearance. Nishinoya was off fishing for Marlins off the coast of Italy during this time-skip.

This revelation was made at the start of the chapter when Asahi texts Nishinoya, informing him about the upcoming match. In response, Nishinoya sent him a picture of himself with a huge Marlin catch.

This links back to a conversation that Asahi had with Nishinoya shortly before leaving highschool regarding his plans to save up money and travel across the world trying new things.

During the time-skip, Shoyo Hinata spent time training in beach volleyball in Brazil. Tobio Kageyama, on the other hand, had already made it to the pro leagues and is performing exceedingly well. The duo was reunited for a heated rematch shortly after the time-skip.
