GTA VI Protagonist’s rumoured voice actor hints at Role

Rockstar Games has been dropping hints regarding releasing the upcoming Grand Theft Auto title – GTA VI. The rumors have been few and far between.

Earlier, there was an update regarding improving water physics in Grand Theft Auto VI. This will reportedly be with the help of the in-house RAGE engine. They will improve on Nvidia’s Wave Works feature, which is understandably expensive.

The latest news comes in the form of a rumor involving Bryan Zampella, an actor rumored to play one of the protagonists in GTA VI named Jason. In a live stream with Rockstar developer Joseph L Rubino, Bryan was seen wearing the same outfit as the character of Tommy Vercetti from GTA: Vice City. Rubino also mentions an unannounced title they’ve both worked on.

The announced title, in all likelihood, is Grand Theft Auto VI. Robino also mentioned working on the soon-to-be-released Forza Motorsport.

To this, Bryan joked about stealing the cars. Fans of Grand Theft Auto will know that stealing cars is an integral part of the franchise.

Bryan also narrated how he knows three secret gyms, one of which happens to be in Miami. That is where he met the reputed actor and voice actor of Cyberpunk 2077 – Keanu Reeves.

Many fans are skeptical about Bryan Zampella being cast as the voice actor for the protagonist in a GTA title. However, this has been confirmed by Bryan’s close friend and UFC fighter – Jared Gordon.

The baseball bat that Zampella is holding at the beginning of the clip, the shirt that is iconic and closely associated with Tommy of Vice City, and the talk of stealing cars and working on a “very big project” definitely hint towards the soon-to-come GTA VI.

However, a quick look at Joseph L Rubino’s LinkedIn profile reveals that he left Rockstar Games ahead of Red Dead Redemption 2’s release in 2018.

Even if GTA VI was in development as early as 2016, 2018 is too early to require a voice actor to be roped in. This, however, is mere speculation.

As Zampella says, we’ll get to know more in the coming weeks. Players and fans of the franchise will hope for more information moving forward as Rockstar is expected to start the marketing campaign or at least drop a teaser trailer. They hope the game releases in the already deferred 2024-2025 window.
