Visual novels serve as great sources for anime. These games end up inspiring anime adaptations due to their exceptional character designs, fluid stories, and multiple endings.
They have served as inspiration for popular animes like Steins;Gate, Clannad and Fate/Stay Night.
Grisaia no Kajitsu inspired its first anime adaptation in 2014 and has inspired various adaptations since then. The latest addition to the franchise is Grisaia: Phantom Trigger – The Animation, a two-part anime movie with a unique journey.
The sequel Grisaia: Phantom Trigger – The Animation Stargazer was announced on the anime’s official website along with a poster and a special promotional video in July 2019.
The announcement was accompanied by a Campfire crowdfunding campaign to improve the quality of the sequel.
The official Twitter account for Grisia Formula announced that the first promotional video for Grisaia: Phantom Trigger – The Animation Stargazer had been completed, and a major announcement was coming soon.

The Campfire crowdfunding campaign for Grisaia: Phantom Trigger The Animation Stargazer, the sequel to Frontwing’s Grisaia: Phantom Trigger game, reached its 10 million yen (about US$92,000) goal in less than 24 hours after it launched on July 26, 2019.
The backer will be rewarded with a Blu-ray disc of the anime, the backer’s name in the anime’s ending credits, B2-size reproduction key art, and tickets to a special screening of the anime.
Its prequel Grisaia: Phantom Trigger Animation opened in Japan on March 15 at Tokyo’s EJ Anime Theater Shinjuku and four other theaters in Japan.
Grisaia’s official website had also previously announced on June 9 that the movie would receive an encore viewing at United Cinema Maebashi from June 12, 2020 (Fri) and United Cinema Mito from Friday, June 26, 2020
The sequel will see the original cast reprise their roles along with Akio Watanabe as the character designer and Bibury Animation Studio producing the theatrical version.
