HBO Max Renews Gossip Girl For Second Season Midway Through Season 1

HBO Max has just announced that it has renewed Gossip Girl for a Season 2, midway through its first season.

According to a press release made by WarnerMedia, the first six episodes of the series (debuted on July 8) became the best launch for a Max Original Drama series this year.

The reboot series saw a record viewership over its first weekend and reportedly has ‘gained around 5.2 billion impressions from content inspired by the series on TikTok.’ However, the streamers haven’t disclosed any viewer figures as per usual.

The series takes place in the same classic Upper East Side setting as the original one. A new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to social surveillance nine years after the original blogger’s website went dark.
