Golden Kamuy never fails to put out a positive/ inspirational story that touches our hearts with comical and hilarious moments sprinkled all over the episode, and Episode 27 of the franchise was no different.
We got to witness the dark and tragic past of Tsukishima Hajime, but the part of the episode that stuck with fans of the series was the very first encounter between Hajime and Sugimoto during the war and the wholesomeness of the moment left the hardcore fans of Sugimoto to fall for him once again.

I. Karafuto Village
The episode begins with Asirpa reaching Karafuto Fox Raising Corporation bringing Sea Lion Meat. Kiroranke tells Asirpa about her father, Wilk’s connection with the village and its dire past.
Meanwhile, Ogata and Kiroranke conspire to learn the code from Asirpa by earning her trust, the code Wilk that left, which can only be solved by her daughter.
II. Hajime’s Backstory
Golden kamuy is impeccable when it comes to character developments and the tragic past of Hajime has left viewers emotional.
We see how he was bullied for his face when he was small and how that same reason brought him closer to a girl with similar conditions.
We also witnessed the reason behind Tsurumi’s scarred face and why Hajime is so good at Russian.
The best part of Hajime’s backstory was Sugimoto’s cameo, and the worst part was how perfectly cunning and manipulative Tsurumi is for a man of his demeanor.

Golden Kamuy is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Satoru Noda, and 22 volumes have been released. The manga has been adapted into two anime seasons with a third on the run.
The story follows Saichi Sugimoto, a veteran of the early twentieth century Russo-Japanese War, and his quest to find a huge fortune of gold left by the Ainu people, helped by a young Ainu girl named Asirpa.
