Treasure hunts have always fascinated mankind. Satoru Noda’s action-adventure, seinen manga “Golden Kamuy,” is the story of war veteran Saichi Sugimoto’s quest to find the treasured gold of the Ainu tribes.
Along the way, he is helped by Asirpa, a young Ainu girl.
The manga takes inspiration from the aftermath of the Russo-Japanese War in 1905. Hiroshi Nakagawa, a linguistic expert specializing in the Ainu dialect, has supervised the making of the series. The manga has won several awards and received positive reviews from fans worldwide.
Satoru Noda has confirmed that the “Golden Kamuy” manga has entered the final story arc.
The manga has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine since 2014. So far, 25 volumes have been published, with the latest one released on March 18, 2021.
While no official date has been confirmed for the release of the next volume, fans expect that it will be either in late May or early June.
Viz Media distributes the English version of the manga in North America. 20 volumes have been published since 2017. The 20th volume was released in February 2021, and the next one will be available pretty soon!
An anime adaptation based on the original manga began airing in 2018. The third season of Golden Kamuy premiered in October last year. Produced at Geno Studios and directed by Hitoshi Nanba, the anime was praised for its flawless cinematography and music.
An original net animation titled “Golden Doga Gekijo” also aired in 2018-20 and was well received by fans worldwide.
Will Saichi be able to find the treasure? Or will some other party claim it first? It’s a race against time, and fans need to wait till the release of the next volume to catch the epic conclusion!

Golden Kamuy is based on a manga series written and illustrated by Satoru Noda. It was serialized in August 2014 in the seinen magazine Weekly Young Jump. The manga concluded in April 2022 and has been collected into 31 volumes.
The plot revolves around Saichi Sugimoto, who is a battle veteran from the Russo-Japanese war.
