If you’re looking for a slow burn and wholesome romance with a hint of drama, you should definitely check out Gold Kingdom and Water Kingdom. The film is slated to open in Japan on January 27, 2023, and you should pre-book your tickets already.
Although it is a romance, the story features many more aspects, such as war, political crisis, and more, as shown in its latest trailer.
Warner Bros. Japan streamed a trailer for the Gold Kingdom and Water Kingdom anime film, which features a crucial conversation between Naranbayar and Saladin.
Unlike other promos, this video is all about the ongoing war between both countries and how helpless the citizens are in stopping it.
Saladin, a handsome actor of the Gold Kingdom, informs Naranbayar that the Gold Kingdom is planning to invade the Water Kingdom.
As the name suggests, Gold Kingdom is full of riches and luxury but has a severe water shortage. Hence, the country plans to conquer the Water Kingdom, that’s full of water and greenery.
What the kingdom doesn’t see is that the citizens do not want war again, and Saladin says that they’re helpless in preventing one.
The actors, Kento Kaku for Naranbayar and Hiroshi Kamiya for Saladin, have accurately expressed what their characters are feeling during this exchange. Not just that, both of them truly captured the essence and gravity of the situation that their countries might be headed into.
After watching that clip, I’m even more excited to see how the film deals with situations like that and how this story will end.
I just hope we don’t get a tragic end with death and heartbreak.

Gold Kingdom and Water Kingdom is a romance fantasy manga written by Nao Iwamoto. The manga was launched in 2014.
The plot revolves around two kingdoms that have been rivals for several years. One day, the princess Sara from one of the kingdoms and a young man Naranbayar from the other kingdom decide to pretend to be a couple to maintain peace in the kingdoms.
However, over the course of their jounrey, the two eventually fall in love with each other.
