Gintama The Final: Teaser Trailer; January 2021 Debut

As an anime, Gintama holds its strength in its witty comments and activities rather than its action scenes.

Every character in the manga is equally insane, and the viewer is deceived several times in a single episode.

Gintama has also been one of the longest-running manga with nearly 700 chapters at its disposal.

Its ending must have come as a shock to fans, especially for those who are so used to Gintoki and Hideaki Sorachi joking about the ending multiple times.

English Translation, Twitter Translate

The tweet starts with the words “The last stupidity begins,” but after being deceived time and again, fans are pretty suspicious of this tactic.

Check out the promotional video with English subtitles.

The teaser started in the usual Gintama style; a shot of the Yorozuya residence and a conversation between Gintoki, Shinpachi, and Kagura can be heard in the background.

Their bickering starts as soon as Shinpachi announces the movie.

Gintoki started out giving high hopes to fans for the next movie but quickly stated that they wouldn’t be doing such cool scenes if people don’t wear masks.

The teaser ended with Gintoki desperately trying to make the audience believe that this really is the last movie.

The official tweet also mentioned that an original illustration by Hideaki Sorachi will be released on 20th August.

An anime special of Gintama will be premiered in early 2021 on dTV’s online service, and it will tie into the upcoming film.

We hope that Gintama The Final will be a good break from the quarantine with its running gags and crazy characters.

About Gintama

The story is set in an alternate-history late-Edo period, where humanity is attacked by aliens called “Amanto.”

Edo Japan’s samurai fight to defend Earth, but the shōgun cowardly surrenders when he realizes the aliens’ power.

He agrees to an unequal contract with the aliens, placing a ban on carrying swords in public and allowing the invaders to enter the country.

The samurai’s swords are confiscated, and the Tokugawa bakufu becomes a puppet government.

The series focuses on an eccentric samurai, Gintoki Sakata, who works as an odd-jobs freelancer. Although the story is mostly episodic, a few story arcs and recurring antagonists develop.
