Gege Akutami Hopes to Conclude Jujutsu Kaisen Within 2023

Jujutsu Kaisen is one of those rare manga series that became popular even before the anime came out. All credit for this story being this successful and renowned goes to its creator, Gege Akutami.

This mysterious mangaka, whose real identity remains unknown to this day, has given us a great story and characters we can’t help simping over. However, the real reason for Gege’s excellent writing is that he knows exactly when to end a tale for it to remain unforgettable for the readers.

In the latest issue #8 of Weekly Shonen Jump, Gege Akutami commented that he hopes to ‘finish the story within this year.’ This means that 2023 might mark the end of the beloved Jujutsu Kaisen manga.

After the massacre of Shibuya and its consequences, the story moved on to its next major arc, the Culling Game. The whole thing is under Kenjaku’s control, and with each chapter, it becomes clearer that he has everyone right where he wants.

Although Yuji and the others have tried to stop him, their focus is distributed due to Shibuya taking away many sorcerers like Gojo. There’s only much they can do against an ancient, powerful, and experienced sorcerer like Kenjaku, who comes with some fearsome allies.

Besides this, there are so many more plotlines that Gege has to wrap up before he reaches the conclusion, like where Nobara is and whether Gojo will ever be free.

Gege can mess up the art at times due to unrealistic deadlines, but he’ll never mess up the storyline.

Given that, we can trust him completely to provide a great and satisfactory end to the story without loose ends and unanswered questions.
